About

Mathieu Besnier is a landscape designer passionate about beauty. Natural landscapes and all forms of art provide him with a constant source of inspiration.

Over ten years in California, he immersed himself in the art of Japanese gardens and the aesthetics of pruning, while embracing contemporary Californian creations that shaped his creative world. The ever-present challenge of drought taught him how to create sustainable, water-wise gardens that remain visually stunning.

Since settling on the French Riviera in 2015, he has drawn on his cultural experiences to create authentic gardens that place humans at the heart of their natural environment.

Sustainable Garden

On the French Riviera, garden design must respond to the challenges of the Mediterranean climate. Dry summers and water restrictions during the hot season call for gardens that are sustainable and water-efficient.

We favor Mediterranean plants and drought-resistant species that can thrive without intensive irrigation. Carefully selected plant palette, combined with the use of natural materials, allow us to create authentic Provençal landscapes.
