A couple of long-time residents of the Var region contacted our design studio to create the landscaping for their contemporary villa in Saint-Raphaël.
To harmonize the garden with the large palm trees already in place, we opted for a design that blends exotic and Mediterranean elements.
Inspired by Japanese strolling gardens, we designed a stepping-stone path that winds around the house, offering a changing view as one walks. Between the stepping stones, walkable groundcovers such as thyme and sedum were planted to create a natural garden feel, evoking of the local garrigue trails.
By the pool, an outdoor shower nestled within the exotic vegetation allows for privacy while bathing. A small lawn below the terrace and pool provides a pleasant relaxation area in the shade of a majestic cork oak tree.
The result is a lively, almost lush exotic garden that now surrounds this beautiful contemporary villa.
