A family seeking a landscape architect in Valbonne contacted us to design their garden.
The project involved reimagining the entire property, starting with the pool area in front of the house. At the clients’ request, the pool was retained, and the surrounding living space was redesigned with a large stone terrace and a wrought-iron pergola for enjoying outdoor meals. A small wooden pool deck shaded by an olive tree provides a comfortable space to relax by the pool.
Our landscape design studio developed the concept of a lively, cheerful Mediterranean-style garden, featuring drought-tolerant plants that require minimal watering. Small lawns were added to allow walking around the property. We selected a mix of rustic, drought-resistant grass seeds to minimize irrigation needs. For added convenience, an irrigation system was installed, designed to water the plants just once or twice a week once they are established.
A wide and carefully chosen plant palette ensures a succession of blooms throughout the seasons, allowing the garden to offer ever-changing interest all year round. With or without flowers, the garden remains engaging at any time of the year. According to the clients, “the garden is beautiful, it changes every day, and it’s truly enjoyable.” Mission accomplished!
